does dual 2ohm mean that each voice coil is 2 ohm, cause on the avalanch it says dual 2ohm so could i hook it up to an amp that pushes 400-600 watts @2ohms. the amp is either a kicker kx 400.1 or kx600.1

Dustin, if u've got 1 DVC 2ohm u got 2 wiring option:
1) Wire in series for a 1ohm load
2) Wire in parallel for a 4ohm load
If u want to run only a single sub, U shuld get 1 DVC 4ohm wired in Parallel will get u a 2ohm load.

You mean, wire in parelal to get 1 ohm, and in series to get 4 ohm's.

mtx 1501d isnt a bad choice for it if u want to upgrade later. it is rated at 500watts rms at 4 ohms at 12v but produces around 750watts at 4 ohms. you could wire it in series and have enough amp left to put another sub on it later if it isnt enough. 2 dvc 4 ohm subs = a 2 ohms load wired in series and that amp is 1500 rms at 2 ohms. you can find it on ebay for like 370 i think
