i was overpowering my sub and didnt even realize it but the funny thing was i put my gain 50% down from where it was sub still sounds as loud except now it has perfect sq just funny how u dont realize ur overpowering a sub until u go outside of the car haha
ok i was overpowering my alpine type r............but i didnt realize i was until i heard my system while i was standing outside of it so i turned the gain on the amp down about 50% from where it was and my sub sounded just as loud as before except it was distorting so thats why i was confused haha
He is saying that his ampliflier's preamp was distorting because he had to hot of a signal going into it. So, by turning down the gain on the amp matching the headunits output, he was able to gain sound quality and retain over all output.
