Alright, I have a 95 Mustang GT, and the trunk is very small. It has about 13-14 inches of height I can work with, and since I want a to stick the sub upright, instead of lying on its back, I figure I should kind a 10" of some kind.

I have about 250 to 300 I want to spend, and I want to still be able to have a trunk after it is in.

I have around the same budget for an amp, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks, guys.

Won't the enclosure be to big for a Mustang's trunk? I don't want my trunk's leftover space, be smaller than the enclosure.

I'll sell ya a 10" Adire Brahma for $215 + shipping. Its a mean lil sub w/ extremly good SQ. Try Adireaudio.com for info. Also, for vids of this sub in action...go to realmofexcursion.com

I actually have a video of this sub, i sent the vid to em a while back.

How big of an enclosure does it need? What kind of condition is it in? How old?

Its a year old and still has 2yrs of warranty left. It is in very good shape. It can be used in an enclosure as small at 0.5 cu ft sealed. Adire's recommended ported box size is 1.5 cu ft.

How much room do you have to work w/ in your trunk?

Well, the trunk volume is like 10.9 cu ft and I know the height is about 14 inches. and I don't want it to be the major thing in my trunk.

If you did the vented box size that is recommented by adire...the box could be about 14" x 12" x 24". A sealed box would be smaller though.

14" would be too high, what would be the sound differences between sealed and ported? I don't know what that SPL stuff means, speak in novice audio terms.

A sealed box would have tighter, cleaner bass. A vented box is usually louder and can still have nice sound quality.

If 14" is too tall, you could just do a vented box that was something like this: 12" tall x 14" deep x 25" wide.

Thats just a box that wold fit Adire internal size recommendations. After port and sub displacement, the box comes out to be roughly 1.5 cuft. You could change the measurements, just as long as the internal volume is enough.

1.5 cu ft is Adires recommended size for a ported box.

Orion H2 10.4

Good or Bad?

The are around 270 and their recommended enclosures are less that 1 cu ft.

b,

I would give a brahma 10" at least 600wrms. I ran the one I have on a jbl bp1200.1 (1200wrms) and it never broke a sweat.

As for the H2 10"...i have heard good things about these subs as far as getting loud, but i never hear much about their SQ.

The DD3510 that zac is talking about runs about $340 + shipping new. Its a nice sub as well, but i have very limited expirience w/ that sub. It can get loud as well.

Oh, but zac is one of our resident DD nuts :-). (just messin w/ ya zac.)

The DD would make a nice choise.

Ecilpse makes a nice sub as well...i havent heard that particular model though, i think subfanatic has a 15" in the model...talk to him about it.

the DD3510, eclipse Ti 10", and brahma would all make a nice sub...i'm kinda iffy on the SQ of the orion though. The brahma's SQ would prolly be the best.
