I'm adding a 12" sub for my DD, i'm after nice low, soft bass although i listen to alot of metal and alt.
Which one out of these 3 would u guys recommend: JL 12 W04, Alpine Type-R or Polk Momo MM-120.
They're all 12 inchers. It's gonna go in a ported, with a kicker 400 watts.
JL's popular with the majority..dunno bout their lower end models tho..
Heard good things about the type-r..
Anyone has experience with the Polk Momo?
Thanks guys.

I have Polk for home - tops no doubt. I just purchased JL 12 W3 DVC ..Holy Cow!! I replaced a RFosgate HE. This JL hits MUCH harder, and also has much more range. I played the same Led Zeppelin song (fool in the rain) and I heard so much more than ever before . I paid 200.00 for the sub.

I personally don't like the w0's. Is the type R the new one? and I haven't heard the Polk.
I would go with the type R though... espetially if it is the new R.

Polk has good SQ, The new Type-R would work very well, the W0 is a good lower line sub, but thats what it is a lower line sub. try to listen to them if you can. My vote is the type-R if its the new model, if not then its a toss up.

whats the difference between the old and new type-r? Higher RMS? or newer tech?
Gonna go ported just to see what Korn would sound like..heheh If things dont work out prolly go to sealed.

My buddy has a 10" POlk Momo, in a ported box with a MTX on it, and it hits amazingly hard and crisp. If you don't plan on getting the 05 Type R, I would grab the Polk.
