hey... my dad dropped off my truck at the audio shop to get everything installed, and he drove it home fine with the stereo working. when i was looking at the cd player and stuff i noticed that at a certain volume level the speakers would cut out (not that loud), then the subwoofer cut out and kick on and off as well as the speakers. the amp was making a weird noise and the amp got kinda hot. anyone know whats wrong????
o and heres the stuff in my truck
15" x.x.x. orion 1200d (this amp was making the noise) jl audio 5x7's in the doors, powered by a 2 channel alpine amp a clarion DXZ945MP and a 200 amp H.O. alt.
sounds like a short somewhere to me but like the Smoe said tell us if you see anything wired differently if you nkow how it is supposed to be wired. I would bring it back down there though first thing tomarrow they should fix it for you with out a problem.
What up Richard, So that amp turned out to be pretty fu[ken awesome ,huh. I'm still waitng on my 18" x.x.x. Hooked up the amp and everything just waiting on my sub , aaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......
haha, those windows are made for some flex, just dont push it liek i did, or your rents in my case will be driving with no back window in their van : D, haha. I bet you any money its a short or ur HU is going into protext mode because of a wire config
The gain setting could be anywhere depending on the pre out voltage of the HU and the range of the input sensitivity on the amp. I know the Orion have up to a 5V gain setting, not sure on those HUs.
