what would be a good set of subs for $400 for a pair. the subs will go in a 2.9cf ported box i want 70% spl 30%sq ohh and they have to be louder than 2 12inch kicker cvrs, 2 10inch shocker audio subs, 1 12inch mtx 9500, and 1 12inch eclipse al.
indoaudio.com has two memphis M3 12's for sale for $309.00 plus 45 or 50 bucks shipping and handling. If pushed with a Memphis 1100 watt D-class amp. in a ported box you'll be in the high 140's and could hit 150db's. They also have a relatively good SQ.
Just a side note my cousin is running this exact setup in his S-10 extended cab and hit 151.6dB's. However that was over 4 months ago and in that time IASCA has had all the mics recalibrated and from what I've heard this recalibration has lower dB's ratings by about 3dB's. So now he will prolly only high 148dB's but that's still pretty loud.
He found that Memphis 1100 D-class at indoaudio.com for $384.00 shipped to his door two days after he bought it on ebay. That's a pretty swet deal if you ask me. Amp. Retailed new for $899.00.
will those subs be louder than the Atlas cause thats what im leaning toward because i really don't wanna buy a bigger amp and i heard the Atlas only needs like 250-300 watts which is exactly what my kicker amp pushes per channel
in another thread ppl say the alpine type x is 1000watts rms so how am i gonna power 2 with a kicker kx600.2 amp also is the kicker cvr 18inch any good would it be louder than 2 12cvrs
You have a point there...:-) sorry, for got you already had a 600 watt amp. Never heard an 18, but I've heard 1 cvr 12, and it sounded pretty good. 2 12's should sound good.
