Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1239 Registered: Jun-04 | your amp is only 4 ohms stable bridged |
Bronze Member Username: JessecapperPost Number: 16 Registered: Apr-05 | could i hook it up 2ohm to one channel? or do both channels have to have something on them?? |
Bronze Member Username: JessecapperPost Number: 17 Registered: Apr-05 | or just tell me what the best way to hook it up is without blowing anything |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1240 Registered: Jun-04 | wire the positive terminal on one side to the negative on the other voice coil with one wire then wire the remaining positive to the positive of the amp and the remaining negative to the negative of the amp for an 8 ohm bridge this will cut your power in half maybe more since you wer runing 2 ohms before but your amp will run cooler and probably wont shut down on you |
Silver Member Username: Rob_brownPost Number: 222 Registered: Jul-04 | hook positive to positive on the sub, then run it to the positive of one channel on your amp. Then do negative to negative on the sub, then run that to the negative on the other channel of your amp. it'll be bridged at 2 ohms. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1241 Registered: Jun-04 | a total of three wires |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1242 Registered: Jun-04 | he cant run 2 ohms bridged robbie its only 4 ohms stable bridged |
Bronze Member Username: JessecapperPost Number: 20 Registered: Apr-05 | do i bridge it? will it be louder than one voice coil to one channel and the other voice coil to the other channel? which is how is is wired now. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1243 Registered: Jun-04 | no they way you have it is ok in stereo .....the amp is stable at 2 ohms that way buy youll need to cut out the higher frequencies with something like an fmod or electronic crossover...you do have both coils wired up right? if so how? I wanna make sure your wired correctly |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1244 Registered: Jun-04 | id cross it over at 80 hz |
Bronze Member Username: JessecapperPost Number: 21 Registered: Apr-05 | + and - on one side to + and - on on channel then the same on the other side |
Bronze Member Username: JessecapperPost Number: 22 Registered: Apr-05 | how you just tell me what to do it bumps ok but it think i can get more out of it. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1250 Registered: Jun-04 | well your wired fine but if your going to sell them amp dont bother with the crossover and buy an amp with one built in but be carefull with how loud you play it without a crossover or fmod those higher frequencies can damage a sub if played to hard |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1251 Registered: Jun-04 | whats your budget after selling the amp maybe i can help you find a good amp to replace it |
Bronze Member Username: JessecapperPost Number: 23 Registered: Apr-05 | but if i wire it the 8 ohm way will it be louder? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 1252 Registered: Jun-04 | no it will be 3 db less loud |
