i have a 551s rockford amp 270x2 at 2 ohms would it rock 2 hx2 12s punch series or not enough juice can get them for 250 pair shipped on ebay if not a good combo please suggest something around same price range that would work better. and is ebay the way to go? thaks alot
your best bet is to match the amp to the speakers. find the coil config of the subs, and the load you'll present to the amplifier. Then find out how much power the amp produces at that load, and match that to the RMS rating of the drivers.
dual 4 Ohm coils. you'll end up with two 2 Ohm subs you need either two mono amps, or a single 1 Ohm stable mono amp, or a two channel amp you want to give each sub about 500 watts for ideal output. so, two 500W mono amps, or a 1 Ohm stable 1Kwatt amp (@ 1 ohm), or a stereo amp that puts out 500w x 2 @ 2 Ohms
