it depends on what kicker sub you have, i have 10 inch L7s in a sealed box and the SQ still isnt good, so if you have an L7 and want SQ the only answer is to buy another sub
yeh both has the potetial to sound great if they're buiilt correctly. It depends on how you like your bass. Ported gives a more boomier sound sometimes*. And the sealed when small enough gives a more punchy feel. I myslef like the way a portedbox sounds. what kind of music you listen to?
by the way I just heard the solobaric 12s L7 on an 2400 watt audiobahn amp and the sq was no where near as bad as people were saying and it was a ported box
