Brahma Or X.X.X 15" Amp? Grr..

The 15" is going to be in a 2.25 sealed box so I'm guessing I'm going to need around 1000 watts. I thought about getting the JL 1000/1 buts its sooo expensive. Any other options under $500 that wouldnt be much different from the 1000/1? Should I really save up for the 1000/1. I know I can get it for like $730.
