Use the manufacturer's recomended size for a ported box. |

chvyzl1 Unregistered guest | you should check out winisd... if you got the thiele/small specs for the sub. it'll compute port length based on diameter of the port, desired FS response, box size and the subs specs... |
Bronze Member Username: ShackashackaPost Number: 17 Registered: Mar-05 | Okay, i downloaded WinISD...but they don't have the V-Max as one of the choices for their subwoofers wat should i do? or does anyone know the specs for it? |
New member Username: Chvyzl1LA, CA Post Number: 6 Registered: Mar-05 | you can input your own sub, but your right, you have to have the specs... try google'in it and maybe you can find some specs... i'll see if i can find any... if you can't find any, i'd just call cerwin vega and give them any kind of serial nuber you can find... manufacturers always have the specs of there products even if it takes 3 people that dont know what they are talkin about and then finally a technician... lol good luck, i'll see what i can find |

New member Username: Chvyzl1LA, CA Post Number: 9 Registered: Mar-05 | hey john, i went through some things and found that a 2 cubic foot box tuned to 30hz (port would be 4in dia. by 15in long) would give you a good sound curve... no gain loss until 40hz and pretty respectable down to 28hz (only a -5db loss). about 90db at 20hz 1 meter away at 1 watt of power. these are pretty good subs and im thinking i might just have to get one. might go for a 15 tho. lol |
Bronze Member Username: ShackashackaPost Number: 18 Registered: Mar-05 | Yeah, i've heard good things about em, so i'm gonna check em out hopefully they'll work out for me as nicely as for others the magnet size is okay, low RMS rating comparable to others, great X-Max, and they still sound awesome |
Bronze Member Username: ShackashackaPost Number: 19 Registered: Mar-05 | Chvyz...wat specs did you use to model it on WinISD? I've been looking around and haven't found that many specs for it. Not even CV's website has the specs. |
Bronze Member Username: Chvyzl1LA, CA Post Number: 11 Registered: Mar-05 | i just put together some specs... took specs from some of cerwin vega's other subs and from that got a good estimate of how it would run... not exact, but close enough Qts: .35 Qms: 4.29 Qes: .39 Vas: 80.5 liters F_s: 25 SPL: 96 Pe: 600 Xmax: 19 mm btw just bought one... getting here in 3 days, box building time :-) |
Bronze Member Username: Chvyzl1LA, CA Post Number: 12 Registered: Mar-05 | i might just call em and try to get the specs... someone has to have them |
