What is the major differences in these subwoofers? What type of amp would be ideal to push two (4-ohm) of either sub? Also, what other sub sounds better than the Kickers at comparable prices. I am very intersted in purchasing either or, but I need to become more knowledgeable before doing so.
I don't know much about JL except that they are good but way over priced. I had a Kicker S12L7 in a 3.25 cu. ft. ported box with a Alpine MRP-M350 700 watt amp and it hit 144.1 in a Ford Ranger Extended cab. You can find 04 Model L7s for around $220 w/o shipping and i bought the alpine amp for 200$ at my local shop.The box was also bought at my local shop. I had it built for 115$. There was a guy with 2 12" either W3s or W6s that hit 147 or so I think they were W3s though.
