sorry for all the questions guys but i havent been in car audio in awhile now and im gonna absorb all the info i can while im here. anyways my cd player is a alpine 7893 i believe, and the preamps are 4.4v. What gains do i get from having 4.4v as opposed to say 2.0v, and is 4.4v still a decent amount with todays cd players. I paid 500 for this thing like 2 years ago.

the higher the preamp output the stronger the signal will be when it hits the amp(s). It will ensure a much cleaner, well defined sound. alpine's hu preamp output voltage is one (of the many) things that sets them apart when it comes to car audio. it makes a much bigger difference than most people realize. you have a nice hu there.
