Hi all! I'm fresh in these forum waters and have used some "classic" equipement. I just got a pair of amps mtx1501d, but now I need subs. I see had some in option: Alpine 1541, S15L7, JL13w7 and JBL W15gti. A pair of each of course. I have around 7cu.ft to play with. Please suggest something. Also I have around 600$ to play with but i could take one and then upgrade later when some money flows in. Help!!! Need SQ but also a want to go to SPL for fun...

thanks

I would go with the Alpines or save a little more money and get 2-jl 13w6v2's not the w7.

He's only got 600 bucks though. He could get just one 13w7, but then he'd have the other amp just sitting there. The 13w6v2's would be all he'd probably need anways.

The JL 13w7 would cost me about 650, which could be done... and later i could upgrade to second w7. Does anyone have any experiance with JBL?
W15gti...

anyone?
What could I do with 13w7 in terms of SPL with one mtx 1501d?
Are the 13w6v2 really that good?
Or can 12w7 do the job, cause I really like bass to the max. And once I buy I'd like to sattle with that at least for a longer time

Well, if your going for the most possible spl then you'd probably get the 13w7, and then wait and get another.

Thanks!

I'll let you know what happened.
I heard that SQ with w7 is the top of the line so making two boxes, one for SQ (everyday listening) and one for SPL will do the job

How much is the x.x.x, or the MT's. Could that fit his budget?
Wouldn't 1500 watt's be a little much for a w7?

Like I said, that 1500 is rated at 14 volts. MTX amps are good, but they rate everything at 14 volts.

Oh.
Would a x.x.x be better for him? I think they are like $400 so 2 would be easier on the money tree,:-) and if he want's a lot of spl, the MT's would be grate!

Personally I would go with the x.x.x's, but that's just because I wanna try one and I've already had JL, not a w7, but still.
