Im lookin at a USAcoustics amp taht says 200Wx2 @ 4ohms @ 12.9V. what does that mean? usually when i see ratings they are in 14.4V. i have an 8 gauge wiring kit so can someone tell me how many volts i would be running? thanks alot for ur help.
im not positive about this, but 12.9 volts is what you get when your car is just idleing, and 14.4 volts is what you get when your driving because the alternator is running faster and produces more power when you drive.
it means that the amp is underrated for comp purposes. It will put out more power at 14.4 then at 12.9. It allows you to be in the 400 watt class when at two ohms that amp is prob putting out 1000 watts or better.
