for components if your willing to spend an extra hundred bucks or so id go with type x .. i noticed a big difference in midbass and it sounded nicer than the R .. however the new R components are comming out they have improved power handling so i dunno subs are pretty decent imo .. upgrading to X's with subs costs a lil more though :\
yeah the X's are definitely way way better all around, but ive grown partial to the type r's. i guess its just more of a preferance thing cause im definitely not looking to enter any comps as of yet. but of course if i had the cash id buy the X's. but i dont lol.
