Tuesday, January 18, 2005 - 09:53 GMT No, sealed boxes are less effecient. ported = (giant hole in box that alows air flow) sealed = (no hole, so a vacume is formed inside box) That same vacume is why you need more power to acheive full excersion.

Tuesday, January 18, 2005 - 15:29 GMT Not to be rude and cut into this post, but does the size of the box and it being selaed/ported make that big of a difference? I really have no clue and am going through some problems right now that this might clear up...thanks

Tuesday, January 18, 2005 - 16:41 GMT yes. the enclosure type and volume will have a large effect on both the response curve of the speaker, and it's output and power handling.
