i already talked to you about the 2 alipine type X subs i think im gonna get with the two hifonics amp that have good power. my question is if instead i were to pourchased 2 12" kicker L7 solobarics powered by either one MA Audio amp.. 1600 Watt 2 Channel Amplifier 400 watts x 2 chan. RMS @ 4 Ohms 700 watts x 2 chan. RMS @ 2 Ohms 1600 watts x 1 chan. RMS @ 4 Ohms
or maybe 2 Infinity reference series 610a car audio subwoofer amplifier RMS power rating: 456 watts x 1 at 4 ohms / 657 watts x 1 at 2 ohms or maybe 2 acoustics USG2000D ( USG 2000D ) RMS Power (4 ohms) 300 watts RMS Power (2 ohms) 600 watts RMS Power (1 ohm) 1200 watts
im wondering what the differenc in sp and spl would be for the alpine and and the kicker
as for power, every time you double the power, you increase SPL by +3dB on average. Small changes of less than twice the power won't make that audible of a difference. As for Type X or Solobarics, if you get solobarics I'll have to shoot you. Actually I just really dislike square subs. low excursion, poor reliability, lead slap and separation issues, surround failures, very poor SQ at high output levels, and just generally ghey design aesthetics. If you want good subs go with Brahmas, RE Triple X, Alpine's Type R, Orion H2, ID IDMax, or similar, good round subs.
