Ok, my rear speaker are hooked up to my amp, and they make a crackling noise only when they're hooked up to the amp. I have a clean ground connection, anyone know what could cause the crackling noise?
When you start hearing crackling noises at high volume, it's a good sign you're getting close to the speaker's limit. I would suggest you turn down the volume a bit till it's gone.
This is an amp for regular speakers, not subs, I dont have the bass turned up at all. The crackling happens at all volumes. The amp has a hpf on it. Any other ideas?
the amp ground is fine, i know that. it could be pinched rca's(highly unlikely though) the rca's are running the opposite side of the power line speakers aren't fried, nor the amp, the speakers work fine when the amp isnt hooked up to them, its just that they crackle when it is.
ohhh ok they work fine off the deck? I understood you wrong. try hooking that amp up to other speakers and if you get the same result then it is the amp. I had an amp that picked up engine noise it was the wierdest thing and I thought it was the install but after walking through and eliminating every other option I found out it was the amp so I changed it and whala it worked fine. so try that.
