New member Username: KillerbuffaloPost Number: 3 Registered: Dec-04 | So would the Kicker KX850.2 be good for 2 1000 Watt RMS subs or is that too weak cuz I don't want to run the subs huge or anything just enuff for people in the car. I don't know Im new and instead of doing like my friends and letting the store tell me what I need I would like to get a little info first but I don't know where to start. |
New member Username: KillerbuffaloPost Number: 4 Registered: Dec-04 | Cuz all the stores here do nothing but try to rip you off cuz it has happened to many people I know. |
Anonymous | If the subs are 1000w rms each then you need to put at least 750w rms into each sub. What two subs do you have already? |
New member Username: KillerbuffaloPost Number: 5 Registered: Dec-04 | Alum 12Q. I got them and a box for 125 cuz my friend could no longer use them and everything is brand new never been used. Someone I know is using a legacy 2400 Watt amp to power the exact same thing but I hear those are crap. I don't know anything about this stuff so everywhere I go and ask I get a big hastle or get told all this garbage. |

I think it would be quite a bit of money for those 2 though. Since you already have those audibahns I can suggest to go with the audiobahn A18001DT amp, it's around $400 on eBay and will give those subs exactly what they need. Also, a cheaper alternative with less power is the all-loved JBL 1200.1. It would give you ~650-700W per sub, that should also be enough. In this case, I actually think you should find the auction on eBay for a jbl amp. They have a few that put out 1200W x 1, so any of them is fine. If you have any questions about buying on eBay just ask. |

Here's one on eBay for $340 shipped, along with some other choices: 1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797%26item%3D5739464827 %26 2.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797%26item%3D5741145366 %26%26 3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797%26item%3D5740028475 %26%26 4. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797%26item%3D5741051864 %26 5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=64571%26item%3D5741124822 %26 |

New member Username: KillerbuffaloPost Number: 7 Registered: Dec-04 | Whats a good site to get wiring for this? Does it matter if I get 4 or 8 size wiring? I have a 97 Limited 4Runner so would my alt be enuff for this? Sorry for all the questions. |
New member Username: KillerbuffaloPost Number: 8 Registered: Dec-04 | I will probably go with the A18001DT amp if that helps. I can get a good deal on it brand new from a friend. |
Silver Member Username: OlegSanta Monica, CA USA Post Number: 314 Registered: Nov-04 | Wiring the subs is pretty easy. Audiobahn has the diagrams in the "tech support" section. Those subs have dual lug terminals, which means that instead of having 1 positive and 1 negative terminal for each coil, then have 2 for each, making it easier to wire. If you lay it down, magnet pointing up, you see 4 terminals on each side. The 2 on the right are pos and the others are neg. Go to the audiobahn.com and look for the diagram. |
