I've got a 15" solo-baric L7 dual 4 ohm so go with the kicker 1200.1 or the mtx 1500.1? or any other suggestions? I have about $400 or so im looking at, so thanks for any suggestions.

I have heard good things about both of those amps from people on this board. I havnt had personal expierience with them but people who have them tend to rave about them.

My friend has an MTX 1500.1 on the L7 and its redic. just dont turn the volume all the way up. the L7 can take it, but id suggest not stressing it.

its a 2003 15 L7, the older looking model in a large ported box (looks like a box for dual subs, but l7 is on far side, port runs on bottom of box with sub on top) in a jeep grand cherokee.

I would have to definitely go with the kicker amp. First and foremost because it's 1ohm stable, but the MTX is not. With 4ohm DVC, you either get 1, 4, or 8ohms. I don't think 4ohms is enough juice for the subs, so you're left with 1ohm. The kicker amp can take it, the MTX can't.

hey Oleg a dual 4ohm VC sub can be run at 2ohms(Parellel-Parellel),4ohms(stereo), or 8ohms (Parellel-Series).

parallel-parallel for 2 4ohm DVC subs yields a 1ohm load.

the kicker kx1200.1 works well with two dual 4 ohm solobarics.
with one, coils in parallel, you'll get over 600 watts @ 2 ohms.
add a second in parallel and at 1 ohm you'll get over 600 watts to each sub.
works out well.
