box depends on what you view as better bandpass would probably be the loudest but you would get as crisp of base as u would with a sealed or ported
i think that 1000 would power those subs good

why lie??

10 to 1 says there's np w7's and theres no escalade...give it up...thats pathetic.

so your parents have an escalade.
24" spinners are umm.. blingy.
personally I can't stand oversized rims or spinners though. I prefer functional to overly chromed out.

anyway, for two 12W7s, use a single JL 1000/1, and put the subs in a slot vented enclosure.
not bandpass.

hpe your upgrading the alternator to atleast 250A if you're gonna get 2 JL 1000/1 amps, they need ALOT of power....

the 1000/1 will pull up to about 130A or so at full output if I recall. yeah upgrading the alternator is a good bet.

regarding parentage, my comment was more in regards to usually having a $50K SUV at the age of 17 means one of two things. either your parents are loaded, or you have inherited money of some means. That, as opposed to having actually earned the money yourself. That's just logic though, being you're as young as you are. Hard to have a career when you're not even out of high school ya know?

As for hating and not having anything myself?
heck, my father died when I was just a bit older than you. However, I still managed to get through college with two degrees, and become a master installer after that. I also have three 1966 dodge chargers. a 426 hemi all original, a 493 stroker street car, and one for parts (318) along with two jeep grand cherokees.
three of those cars have systems in them so I really don't feel too underachieving or anything *laugh*

the 745i is a nice car. cushy but still a good driving car. not overly plushed out. I do envy your weather now though.. I hate all this snow.
I almost had about 4 people run into me today just going into town and back.. lousy visibility, and worse drivers.

just out of curiosity though, why do you need such a large SUV in california?
For waht that thing costs, it seems like you could have gotten just as nice a vehicle that'd have been more practical or useful there.. something sporty maybe. You don't see much bad weather I'd think.

If you really want to bump get 2 13w7's and give each of them a 1000/1. My friend has three of these each with their own 1000/1 and god dam it is the ludest thing I have ever heard. He can be heard from 1/2 a mile away when hes bumping it.

I misread your post. I thought you didnt have the subs yet. To answer your initial question I think you should be fine with a 1000/1 on each amp. Just be sure to have someone that knows what they are doing set your gains.

My cousin got his just because hes wanted that truck for a while. At 20 he got a gs300.. 22 a gs 430 L tuned with 2 12w7s all custom done. And now hes 26 with the escalade with 6 tvs, 24s, aftermarket grille and a niec drop.. also getting 4 w6v2s i think. The funny thing is.. hes about as far away from having rich parents/ large inheritance as you can get. As with a few people ive seen.. hes one of the ones that got lucky. And btw: Not that anyones hating on you.. it just did seem a bit wierd that a 17y/o is pushing that truck. Anyways.. i guess do what those other guys were talking about.. the 12w7 with the 500.1s pushing them.. i heard a few setups based around this and they sound amazing

I know your a liar too! I know for a fact that theres no caddy. Anyone can make up a fake car and fake system. I just think that its really sad that you still have to lie so much. If you are even really 17 and arent lieing about that to, that I think you should grow up and stop lieing! I only hav one more question. If you ever get enough money for w7's, the only thing that your riding is a huffy 10 speed, so how will you hook it up to that? YOU ARE A LIER!!!!

whoa why is this guy a liar... im 16 and i was just given a escalade to me from my parents.... im not some spoiled stuck up brat. i was brought up with a dad from mississippi. respect is the key thing in our family. i have a 4.08 GPA and i stay out of major trouble... it jsut so happened that my dad was going to trade in his escalade for a new one and i told him that it would be more practicle to keep it and give it to me because they would kill him with trade in value... they wanted to pay him 28 grand for it.. the truck is worth 34 at least... my dad owns his own business... hes not loaded like a big time CEO but hes got money. also i know some1 that his dad is a specialist. when he was 16 he was given an escalade... whenb he turned 17 he got a 8K$ system... 18.. spinners... so he has a a JL and Zapco system with a alpine flipscreen and 24inch spinnres on his escalade... so the kid aint lieing... oh and also that one kids little sister is 15(shes my friend) and she has a 2005 CLK 500... okay so for u ppl saying hes lieing... you must be some kind of jelous... be glad for others and what they have...

Gota love it, cant get hired @ a grocery store making minimum wage but daddy can buy you a 75,000 dollar truck. I guess thats one way to teach your kid to be responsible

Wait, you are gonna have two 12w7s and then one 13w7 all in the same car? This really doesnt sound like a good idea to me if that is what you are thinking. I have always heard that you want to stick with the same size woofers in a setup.

this thread is dead now. you just proved quite plainly that you know absolutely nothing at all about SPL.
you've just essentially disproved any credibility you may have had, with anyone.

"170s" (174) is the SPL world record at present in sanctioned events. It sure as hell wasn't done with a single fifteen from audiobahn with an 18mm Xmax.

When you learn a bit more about the real world of car audio, and not what you think you know from reading websites or hanging around some local Best Buy, come back and start posting.

Bye zac.

By the way, good job avoiding every question I asked that related to validating your statements.
Do you know anything about SPL events or classes for sanctioned competitions?

"wow that's loud! my ears hurt!" doesn't mean it's automatically in the 170s.

actually you claimed 170s with a single fifteen.
Then you changed brands and sub sizes.

Being able to pay installers or "own" a company doesn't mean you know anything about the physics of car audio though, or what does or doesn't work.
I've known plenty of shop owners who make decent money, and don't know an amplifier from a jar of jam.

I'm curious to know what certifications and degrees you hold related to this field as an installer?

i didnt change brands, your the idiot who doesnt recognise the abreviation "AB", it stants for american bass, not audiobahn, its not my fault you dont know the difference.
and hey dumb@ss, i've been an installer for 11 years, and guess what, i'm still installing fulltime, i only have one part time installer.
what the hell is your problem, are you pissed because there is someone else on this forum that knows a thing or two besides you?
get off your soapbox assh0le.
i'm the one breakin his back everyday doin remote starts, alarms, installin radios, and all the other car audio related sh!t. i've been installing hydraulics for 10 years as well. and yes we at Porkys hydraulics broke the world record in the two pump class. i learned from the best. and now i'm one of them. see thats the difference between you and i. if there is somethin to learn i listen, unlike you who just wants to be a know it all.
you must be the biggest loser to just sit on the internet and diss on people, i never dissed you so why u makin me a target, are you havin a bad day or what?

No, the actual reality is you just can't admit when you're wrong, like you have been throughout this thread. Go back to installing for best buy where you belong.

I have no problem with people who really do know what they're talking about, and I can name several on this board. You're not one of them, and all I see you do is offer people misinformation and misguided opinions.

Do whatever you like. I really don't care.
when you grow a pair, and get tired of name calling on the internet, let me know.

.................so?, who is it that is quick to judge? not me. since these posts, i've went to world finals with the car "i" built and became world champion in my class and broke the world record.

i'm not tyin to start a keyboard commandos war here, however i am just tryin to show others on this forum that just because a certified engineer and long time technician says it is so...,(although 99% of the time correct) may be off the the mark at times, otherwise knowm as WRONG.
we all have our shortcomings, yours is definitly not knowledge, however dealing with adversity might be something you ought look into.
btw, i am looking forward to meeting you next summer at a show. its always nice to actually talk in person rather than read and imagine a person saying what your reading. many times people read a post and think a person is being sarcastic or rude when infact they're sincere.
wellll....anywho, just thought id say , "be nice" :-)

Good call Glass, and, no offense zac, but you may be mentally retarted. 1 15" hitting 170's? American Bass or Audiobahn, neither makes a sub that can hit 170's by itself. I even know that, and I'm a 16 year old who just started. And bug off if you're flowing heavy this month.

glass, i'm just ribbing ya man,lol :-).
lastnight i read read this thread from the beginning.
it reminded me of when yall were tellin me i knew nada.
oh well, i dont really care that much anyways. just try not to call people out and say they're lying about things you yourself dont even know, thats all. you already apologized for your shortness with me becuz of family issues and i understood completly. like i've said, "your alright in my book:-)".
i'm only stating my mind now... like you and others have....
....but see i am not telling anyone to stop posting in here because of thier views.

i've been registered in this forum as long as glass and many other vets in here.
its just nicer if we all get along i think, thats all i'm saying. not really a big deal, just my thoughts.

and djeter108, daaahwahh.........

http://www.me-mag.com/t_news_pick_print.cfm?doList=0&sid=2592

..........learn your facts before you call me a retard:-)
(amazing only one sub can get that loud ey?)

and jeter108, show some respect bro, i am a world champion and record holder in spl, i know my facts....i'm not blowin smoke in here to be part of a group, i talk in here because car audio is my livelyhood and has been my passion for longer than you've been alive. :P

so back to the issue at hand......
ryan 420,
i agree with the others that maybe a 13 and two 12's could have its downfalls, i'd prolly just get a third 12 instead to avoid any cancellations due to different sized woofers producing the same frequencies.
now if you were to x-over the 13 to play only frequencies below the 12 xover point then i could see it working however it doesnt seem like the most efficient way to run that equipment.
also, dont let these guys bother ya when they tell ya your stuff stinks. i only judge a guy buy how hot his brawd is:-) not what he drives, lol
like i've always said to my boys who got more money than me..."i could pull up in a rusted out primered pinto, and still pull hotter dames then you in your p!mped azs ride!" lol

but then again my rides are p!mp too.......:P
