I got a mtx rt2400 amp pushing out 400 watts when bridged. I'm going to hook it up to a mtx 4000 sub just for temporary purposes, but the sub has an rms of 200. Is 400 watts gonna blow it up?

Soon I'll be getting a 7500 mtx sub or a comp VR that can handle the power..

Hey Rob, as long as you use self control with the volume control, it won't blow.

set your gain super low, and dont crank up the headunits bass boost and you should be able to get awy with it for a good while

?? anyone else..

also this amp has a 60 amp fuse, and my other amp for my highs has a 20 amp fuse. Is 8 gauge off the battery ok, or should I get 4 gauge ran until the distribution block?

4 guage. And if you're careful, then you'll be fine. It's usually safer to overpower than to underpower, because the amp has less chance of clipping at a set volume level, just because it isn't straining as hard. If you hear distortion then turn down the volume.
