I'am not sure but I don't thank so. I think you can only wire the for 3 ohms or 12 ohms. I could be rong, maby somone will help that knows more about it.
3 ohm in parallel(voice coils that is) and 12 ohms in series. for each sub. but you have to consider running them to the amp 2 ch or 1 ch. then your ohms change again, i hope i aint confusing you. you could get a 1.5 ohm load or a 6 ohm load to a one ch amp or just give a 2 ch amp a 3 or 12 ohm load to each ch.
Yup...youre right... y'all forgot about series/parallel though... which would yield a 6 ohm load.
Well...Ive seen people put a 3 ohm load on a 4 ohm stable(bridged) 2 channel amp before and throw a couple fans on it... seemed to work OK..
Either that, or get an amp with a regulated power supply, like the Phoenix Gold Tantrum series, or the JL Audio Slash series... Im sure there are others.
Also, The company who produces the subs you speak of most likely has an amp which matches the subs they sell...seeing on how its an unusual Voice Coil configuration....
Their Audiobahn ALUM12Q's and i was hopeing to power them with an MTX 1501D at 2 ohms... is there an 12' subs that i could power well with the MTX amp, that somebody would reccomend. also i was wondering if their were any online retailers for RE subs thanks for the help and feedback
