I've got a JBL bp600.1 amp. I'm getting two 10" Alpine Type-R's. Would it be best to get the subs at 2 ohm or 4 ohm?

SVC or DVC? If SVC, i would do 4 ohm, if DVC, i would do also do 4 ohm, this way you have a 2 ohm for the SVC, and a 1 ohm for the DVC, and the amp is rated to be stable at 1 ohm if you didnt know that...or i believe you could do duel 2 ohm for the DVC and come out with a 2 ohm load, dont know bout that one brain is playing tricks on me...lol

if these are dual voice coils each then you would want dual 2 ohm type r's for a two ohm bridge at you amp for full power

i picked the 2 ohm bridge because the amp wont have to work as hard at 2 ohms as at 1 ohm and ive heard the jbl amps had some issues at 1 ohm with heat (this amp puts out the same power at 2 ohm as 1 ohm)

heres a link with specs of your amp
