I have 2 10" inch Kickers, and i tried them out on a Fosgate Power 851s amp, and it was ok, but the clarity (SQ) wasnt that good, was it because they needed more power? any suggestions on how i can get them to work really good? or are these speakers that lousy that they sound that bad?
You probably had them in a really small box volume. When you give them more box volume they tend to sound better but potentially loose spl. It all depends on the vehicle and cabin boost.
They really aren't designed for sound quality. The square design results in uneven stress points, which can produce cone flex, added distortion, limited excursion because of surround design, etc. Overall motor structure and suspension isn't optimized for SQ either.
