i saw a 300 amp ea alt for 250 and was wanting to know if they where good alts

Is this for your daily driven vehicle, or competition? If for competition go for it.

If it's your daily vehicle I would make sure you're getting 100+ idling amps, and ask what diameter pulley it has, (particularly factory vs overdrive) because those things are important for daily use.

I owned "380" amp alts that bench tested 280 peak and 10 idle. Obviously I had to rev my truck at stop signs to keep my battery from dying.

Short answer: No.


Several people just on this forum alone have had failures, problems, etc, do a search.

Also there was a thread a long time ago where somebody had one tested and found it to be way below claimed output.
