I have two 10" Rockford Fosgate subs that need new cones. I tore the old cones off like they were tissue paper haha.

They're already not the greatest subs ever. I got them for free when I bought an amp and crossover (these were hooked up to a PPI art amp, can you believe it?).

I found a kit on ebay for $14: http://cgi.ebay.com/Speaker-repair-kit-10-new-pair-angled-foam-edge_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a15Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem2554badaebQQitemZ160335321835QQptZLHQ5fDefaultDomainQ5f0QQsalenotsupported

My original plan was to just give these to the pawn shop for a few bucks, but when I was cleaning them I realized the surrounds were trash. I don't think the pawn shop would take them+ the box, let alone give me any money for it. ;)

Opinions?

The one on the left has silicone goop leftover from an attempted repair (then I realized the whole surrounds were wasted):

Thanks for the link, Paul! I didn't think of raising the cone while the surround was drying 'to it'

Also, all of those clamps and the cord look crazy, but excellent idea. I'll have to try that out as well.

Thanks.

I have a banner in the middle of the first post so I can only see about 2/3rds of the post. What's wrong with the one on the left besides the extra glue?

There's a better pic of it. Nothing wrong with it other than the glue that got all over the corners and a weird stain that doesn't affect anything. There is still foam underneath the edges, so it can be peeled off to expose the speaker cone itself for a new surround.
