What does "MOSFET" mean and would it cause any problems if a "MOSFET" amp was hooked in in a 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition?

I am new to the car audio world so help would be much appreciated

MOSFET stands for metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor. Memorized that many years ago. It is basically a high output transistor component.
And no it won't hurt anything, it is just a technology used in amps.
