ive decided to throw a little more money into my radio at work, so im gettin rid of the MTX thunder 420 D that im usin now, my question is, would a brutus 600x1 be powerful enough to power the treo im currently using? any help would be appreciated.

i dont think so. if the amp did a true 600rms than yeah. but i htink it will only do like 500rms or so. i would say that sub needs around 700rms - 800rms. try getting an a8000t or somethin.

i know its twice the rms, but they can take it.

thanks steve, ive heard audiobahn amps are also overrated though, would you say it gives the full 800 by 2? also i forgot to mention its DVC 4 ohm if it makes a difference

a dvc 4 ohm sub will run @ 2 ohms which is perfect for the a8000t.

no the a8000t is not overrated. it puts out the 800rms. it has been tested........

it will do 800rms @ 2 ohms, and it isnt 1 ohm stable.

I've got an amp I'm trying to get rid of that does 1000rms @ 2ohm on 12volts.. only ran 2 weeks at half power but I need one to do 1000rms @ 1ohm
