No. Best you can do is wire it in series for a 8 ohm load bridged. Would be gettin 250 watts.

he can wire it down to 2 ohms....so he will get 250 watts out of it

yeah on one channel. but the amp would put out 1000 watts at 2 ohm bridged but is most likely not stable and would be overpowered.

theres 2 options, series wiring bridged 8 ohm load 250 watts. Or, parallel wiring on one channel 2 ohm load, 250 watts. either way its the same. He could get another sub exactly the say and run 2.

250 watts would be fine though man. My friends runs a 500 RMS type R with 300 watts RMS and its fine.

Does he already have the kenwood or not? Cuz if he does it will be fine.

i thought the 400.1 was 400watts@2ohm but mabey i'm wrong but in any case the amp he has will work fine. it should sound good, isn't gonna be the loudest sub around but should do, just make sure u don't clip your amp since your underpowering your sub.

Would it be possible to run the amp in mono and use one channel for each voice coil?

he would still be gettin 250 watts total. Cuz its dual 4 ohm and the amp puts out 125 x 2 at 4 ohm.

I read 170w x 2 @ 4ohm on the link he gave.

thats what i believed that i could do... it is 170w x 2 @ 4 ohm...which is what i thought i was going to do all along but apparently that is not possible?

oops my bad i estimated 125 each. so 340........really really not gonna see a difference between 250 and 340 seriously.

but i mean it is possible to hook 1 channel to each voice coil, correct?

atleast with 170 on each coil i can tell people i have 340 watts running rather than 250...and the amp has a mono setting on it...so im guessing it will work though i have read from some places it will and some it wont..seems like it should i have 2 voice coils running on 4 ohms each with 170 going to each...makes sense to me

why would the extra 90 watts not make a difference?

it will work, a dual voice coil 400rms 4 ohm sub is just like having two Single voice coil 200rms 4 ohm subs, so yes wire each voice coil to its own channel
