allende5 Unregistered guest | I'm just curious. When I first tried this app on the web, my first thought was that I wish I had something like this 10-12 years ago. It's so easy!! If you haven't tried it, check it out. http://www.linearteam.dk/ You don't need to be an audio export, a mathmatician or a carpenter to build a very good box. That's just IMO. |

Its good for comparing sub alignments to something you already know, but since its primarily designed for home audio modeling its plots can bit a decieving when applied toward the mobile audio enviroment, i.e. cabin gain isn't factord in. I wouldn't recommend using any of its suggested alignments as they may not sound good for this very reason. The new WinISD(Pro) will allow you to get a rough plot with cabin gain by employing a linkwitz transform. If any are interested in tryin it out check this thread(copy/paste to address line): It describes how to figure a rough aproximation of your vehicle's cabin gain and use it with a linkwitz transform in WinISD. Unfortunately only the transfer function plot(gain plot) is accurate using this method. Forget trying to predict actual in-car SPL numbers. I'm also fairly sure accuracy at sub 30 Hz frequencies is pretty limited. Still, you get a much better idea of subwoofer response in a car enviroment this way as WinISD's typical plots are limited to anechoic response(no reflections/cabin gain). Here's a couple plots that show the differences betweeen some sealed 10" drivers in a 96 Explorer Sport.
