What watt sub?

i just bought a 1200 watt amp and im looking to buy one subwoofer if i get a 1200 watt subwoofer will my amp be ok or will it blowup?

i got a legacy 1200 watt 2 channel bridgeable MOSFET amp it has 2 ohm stereo stable and it is bridgeable into 4 ohm i dont know anything about amps and there wiring so if what ive told you here doesnt help let me know.

ok that amp isn't really 1200 watts. It's probably closer to maybe 100 watts x 2.
do you have a model number so we can look up the actual specs?

where would i find the model number at i ordered it from a magazine and it isnt here yet it should here soon though

dude you should have asked a few questions about that amp before you went and ordered it! We prob would have steered you away from that choice.

this is what i know about it:

2-channel Bridgeable MOSFET
1200 watts (600x2,1200x1 bridged)
specs:
frequency response: 10hz-30 khz
S/N ratio:>90 db
THD:>0.04%

i have seen this amplifier on www.woofersetc.com and the product number is LA790 if that would help it may have more info on it if you want to look on there
