Besides the 2500 having 130W/C to the 2400's 120W/C (Watt/Channel), does anyone know the real differences between the two?

I want a A/V receiver with multi-zone video and HDTV compatible component in/outs. In theory the 2400 has all that.

The biggest difference is the pure direct mode, V2500 has it. Yamahas power ratings are always overrated so looking at the specs doesn't tell you much.

I bought the RX-V2400 in July. After a 3 month burn-in. I am 70% satisfied with it. But b4 u consider the RX-V2500, it'll be worthwhile to listen to the Marantz SR8300

the 2500 has many additional features, such as GUI (graphic user interface), user adjustable parametric equliser. Video switching between formats, now available for record outs as well (except component, which is only available for monitor out). The YPAO autocalibration was improved and is now error free.

I'd go for the 2500.
