will a 1000 watt sub work to hook it into a 450 watt amplifier? would I get all the sound quality out of it that I could?

What type of amp and subs are they, and what is the rms rating of the amp?

My amp is an MTX Road thunder (RT404) heres soem of the the specifications

Power output: 37.5 watts RMS x 4 (4 ohm load), 75 watts RMS x 4 (2 ohm load), 150 watts RMS x 2 (bridged mono, 4 ohm load)
Frequency response: 20 Hz-20 kHz
THD: Less than 1%
Signal to noise ratio: Greater than 100 dB
Dimensions: 9.75" W x 2.1" H x 11.5" L
Regulated PWM Mosfet power supply
Defeatable 85 Hz 18dB crossover, selectable for low pass/high pass operation
Smart-Engage auto turn-on/turn off for easy integration to head units
Real-time computerized protection circuitry
2 ohm stereo stable.

I thought it was round 450 watts is what it said on the box.

the sub i was looking at is a 1000 watt JVC 12" woofer. i dont know much about that brand but the price is pretty good ($76.50) so i was thinkin of getting it, cause all i got are a couple "thump" 8 inch woofers whic were only 40 bucks for the pair, enclosures n everything. so theyre not the best quality. they distort abit quite easily whenever heavier bass is used. so yah. lemme know what ya think. thanks

Good system with bass=$$$$$$
cheap system w/o bass = waste $$$$$$$$$$

Any upgrade for your car system would sound better than stock, but once you haer a good system you would really know what's the differernce.
