I have a double sub enclosure with two of the same types of subs in them (mtx) and i was thinking about hooking a amp up to a alpine type r by replacing one of the mtx subs, so i was wondering if i should buy i seperate box for the new alpine or if it will do just aswell in place of the mtx sub? thanks for your input

well if ur dual enclosure has a divider its fine...if not get seperate box
the box for the alpine sub should be built to the specs put forth by alpine, or built to the T-S parameters of the driver. non-identical speakers should not share the same air space in an enclosure either.
