Can i use straight wire? what i mean by straight wire is it is one strand. it isnt a wrapped bundle of streads. I am wiring subs inside a box. and i was wondering if i could use it. it is 12 gauge.
no. there's less give in solid core wire, and since electrons travel around the outside of the wire, the more strands you have, the better the wire is going to carry the current. you want multistrand wire. don't be cheap.
