my first system was run off a old school rockford fosgate punch 100. For those of you that know these rf amps from the mid 90's know that they don't make anything like them anymore. I had 2 a/d/s 10's run off a punch 100 at 2 ohms pushing close to 400 watts which was a ton back then!

500w WAS plenty in my day lol.

Think about the wattage you use in your home. The typical home stereo is 100-200w. Very sufficient no?

Yes in my day 500w was massive in car audio. Such a smaller space, why the need for MORE power?

Because we can.

I grew up back in the day when a rockford fosgate punch 150 was enough and a pair of kicker subs was the subwoofer of choice....same era as Paul

Why dosent every one run a 20k or more its called $$. It would be 2000-2600$ in just batts per amp. We dont just burp we play this thing for hours at a show.

Even 5-10 years ago thousands and thousands of watts was not very popular. I believe that's why Steave Meade was so successful - he sort of caught things at a time when huge power wasn't the norm.

A few years back 2,000 watts was 'overkill', now it seems unless you're running 20,000 watts or more you really aren't doing much :P

I'd have to see a few of these sold before really considering one myself.
