So, I took a class to get my unrestricted builders licence for 1 and 2 family homes. (The highest available licence they offer in MA).
Anyway, I took my test Thursday and passed. So Now I can legally run a home improvement company, pull permits for building 1 and 2 family homes, ect...
I still need to register as a Home improvment contractor,

I dont need it for my current job, but it is a good thing to have..one never knows.

An example of test Q's.

what is the max riser hight in stairs?
what is the max height in a class 5 zone 3 building?
what is the max corbel of masonary?
What is the min egress corrior width in a class b building with an occupancy load of 480 ppl with a fire sprinkler?

Some tough Q's for sure.

Good going man! Building codes are a sonofabitch for sure. "Supposed" to be there to protect the well being of the occupants but more so to give the power of God to an overweight, lonely d1ckhead of an inspector looking for handouts. Also generate revenue in those permit fees and fines. In Jersey you can't put a mail box in without a permit. If you dig a hole, they want paid.
