Hey guys, I'm planning on getting a AQ HDC315-A, and power it with a AudioQue 1200d. Im just wondering if you can help me figure out what specs to build my box to. This is my first system and I'm a bit unsure if what I'm doing on the RE website is right. Could yall just give me some ideas on what size and port volume I'll need. Also could you just give me some feedback on AudioQue as a company. Thanks

The only reason I gave you the links is because You can trust AQ's website to be accurate and also because the more you figure out on your own, the betteryoufeel when the system is completed...If you would like, post what you come up with and we'll give you our opinion on your final thoughts. good luck.

Alright so I read up on AudioQue's website than went a typed it up on RE's box calculator. Just tell me if everything looks okay. I'm a bit confused about the port area/tuning frequency but I tried to get it all rightUpload

Your port is tuned to 40 Hz, you're not going to want it that high. Try to get it down to between 32 and 35 Hz. The length, width and height of the port is what contributes to tuning frequency.

and you're not gunna want 90 sq inches of port for a 4.5 cube box.

try to have 12-16 square inches of port per cubic foot of internal volume.

so for your 4.5 cube box, you'd want ~54-72 square inches of port.

a 40 hz tuning is just fine for that sub its designed for it.....72 square inches of port is what audioque would recommend for that box (70 is fine)

Alright so I tried a second time, is it tall enough to fit that sub? 16 inches seems kinda closeUpload
