I'm trying to find a amp that is above 85% efficient so far the only ones that I've been able to find are harrison labs and rd audio's 3250 but their a little more than I want to pay right now

basically my problem is I am having trouble finding an alternator above 240 amps so I'm looking for alternative means to acclomplish my goals

Don't forget the Cadence DCA2500 :-) The RD would be a beast though.

The RF15KW is extremely efficient. Of course, it'd be pretty stupid to spend that much.

FYI 240 amp alternator should be enough for any 2000 watt amplifier for daily.

But if you're looking for a very high efficiency amp, the two that I would say have already been mentioned here: DD Z1 and Cadence DCA2500

Kevin at low-hz ( lowhz01@yahoo.com ) will probably have the best price on the Cadence...... the Z1s go for about 1000 slightly used / mint condition if you can find them on forums ans such.

Hey Ron, do you realize that those efficiency ratings are usually 4 ohm ratings? Efficiency drops at lower impedances (ohms). An amplifier's efficiency could be up to 20% less at 1 ohm.
