I just built myself a ported box. This is only my second box that I have built. The box is 3.5 ft^3 tuned to 32Hz. So far I like the ported box. The Atlas remains a lot of its sq in this ported enclosure. Hope you enjoy! Also I can't decide how I want to cover the box. I'm welcome to any suggestions.

Looks good. Maybe blue vinyl to match the cars interior.

I might just try some blue vinyl. There really aren't that many screws only 1 about every 4 inches. The box is H20"xD14"xW39", so it is a pretty big box for my ford ranger. Thanks for the comments!

Yeah its a 15" Atlas. I just wanted to get it in to see how it sounded. I was going to sand it some more and try to paint the port when I covered the box. I should have painted it before I assembaled the box but too late now. The port area is 55.5 in^2

I would say that the spl increased quite a bit. I didn't use to be able to move my air freshener but now I can. :-)

looks decent

get some wood filler & cover those screw heads cause if u use carpet/fabric 2 cover it u will see like 'dimples' showing through the material ...

Paint the port a different color, like yellow/white. Make it kool. Everyone has a carpeted box (so do I), but if you go blue, then try yellow/white for the port. You would get my vote.

Thanks for the comments. Dustin yeah the grill is great. I got it from parts express. I got it to make sure that my subs didn't hit the back of my seats. I used to have the Atlas sealed but I wanted to try it ported to see if it maintained enough sq and it does, so im gonna keep it this way for a while. I like the idea of the different colored port.

The sub is a AA Atlas. The box is 3.5 ft^3 tuned to 32Hz. The external deminsions are W39"xH20"xD14" I have had nothing but good experience with AA and have heard great things about the havoc. You should be happy if you decide to get it.
