If you are on a small budget... audiobahn is the way to go... and they get pretty loud. They aren't bad for the price, but prob better. How much are you wanting to spend?

Whats up with all the audiobahn questions? It's like every few months certain subs will get pounded in to the ground with questions like
Are they any good?
this vs that!:-)

Ok... you could get a pretty good system with that kind of money. Do you already have an amp? If so, what are the specs on it, or if you don't, how much money are you wanting to spend on it?

The Alpine type X is 1000 watts rms, and is around $230, and the RE SX, but I'm not sure on the price or power ratings. I know there are a few more subs... but my mind has whent blank!:-)

audiobahns always gonna be the flavor of the month, cause they're always noted on here about how they get loud but suck for sq. And the only people asking about them, are the same ones asking for what they can do to be heard 5 miles away.

True, if they would put a little in to there build quality, and sq... I would love them. But then agen, that would mean they would prob cost more. They get loud now, and are cheap... thats all they really have working for them.

the pricing seems to work for them quite well. Everyone at my job with a system runs them, and thinks they sound great. I have nothing against them, though one guy did trade in his jl's for them and is convinced the audiobahns are better.lol

But then again he was alittle clueless on which ones he had, he was trying to tell me they were w4's,lol and he was comparing them in a prefab bandpass vs his sealed now

I believe the w4's are pretty old, they discontinued them a while back. I still find it hard to see how a pair of audiobahns sounded better than JL... unless they were the top of the line audiobahns.

He bought the jl's pretty recently, they were either 3's or 0's, and the audiobahns he has now aren't there best. Just ones he said he picked up at the flea market.
