Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2238 Registered: Jun-04 | yes i did right here https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/138616.html |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2239 Registered: Jun-04 | do you have the room to do one of these well you got two choices this subwoofer will work in both sealed and ported sealed acceptable to me would be 2.8 cf. each before displacements ported 2.34 cf each before displacements ported to 30.3 hz in ported youll be about 3 db louder in the low bass region to 50 hz and close up to 55 hz but the onlty thing i dont like about the ported is what the accuracy will be like they might me a tad sloppy....your subs displacement is .47 so sealed would come out to 3.27 cf per sub sealed and 2.81 cf per sub ported |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2240 Registered: Jun-04 | if not ill use your current demensions you gave me |
Silver Member Username: Fastbastard1977Lousiville, Ky Usa Post Number: 130 Registered: May-05 | yeah but its tight im going to do 2 of them i might tune each one difrent. i can go like 3to 4 inches longer. if i have to i have them in a sealed box and they do bound but i think it will sound loder with a ported box i dont need trunk space so thats not a problem. im going to make a nice box but i want sloted ports |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2241 Registered: Jun-04 | what you gave me will work but the sound might be sloppy ill plot out the ports for you |
Silver Member Username: Fastbastard1977Lousiville, Ky Usa Post Number: 131 Registered: May-05 | thanks thats the onlt thing i cant figure out yet. i got cu feet down but i would like to know how to fig. out port size and length. your help is appreciated |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2242 Registered: Jun-04 | im doing it now brb |
Silver Member Username: Fastbastard1977Lousiville, Ky Usa Post Number: 132 Registered: May-05 | thanks. if you could can you explain how your fig. out port size and leangth and convert it to sloted port specs in easy terms |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2243 Registered: Jun-04 | ok you might have a little port noise but i cant really do anything about it you would need a slot port 12 inches high high by 3 inches wide assuming the subs are sharing one chamber this is at 19 deep internal which i assume all your measurements you gave me are internal you should hit pretty good at 55 to 60 hz |
Silver Member Username: Fastbastard1977Lousiville, Ky Usa Post Number: 133 Registered: May-05 | no im buildin two boxes one for each sub how long should the port be and how con i tune it to 35 hz |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2244 Registered: Jun-04 | I use this for slot ports http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 and i use this to figure out the port volocity with the port size with your power rms from your amp....to figure it out together i just match the port size with linear teams single port size until it matches the depth of the box internally http://www.linearteam.dk/default.aspx?pageid=ventcalculator |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2245 Registered: Jun-04 | ok so the box is split chamber right? |
Silver Member Username: Fastbastard1977Lousiville, Ky Usa Post Number: 134 Registered: May-05 | wat should the port bee to tune it to 35 hz |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2246 Registered: Jun-04 | ok if your using that box size split chamber 4inches high by 2.25 inches wide per chamber will tune you to 35 hz |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2247 Registered: Jun-04 | you didnt answer me if the box was split chamber so im assuming it is....obviously thats a 4 inch high by 2.25 wide port per chamber (so 2 ports on the box) |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2248 Registered: Jun-04 | i can tell you now your gonna have alot of port noise with that much power |
Silver Member Username: Fastbastard1977Lousiville, Ky Usa Post Number: 136 Registered: May-05 | no im building to seperat boxes on for each sub |
