Sub boxes, anyone else heard of this?

I heard that you should try to stay away from square boxes because the frequencies could just cancel out or something like that. Is there any truth to that at all, does anyone know what im talking about? I heard that you should try to get a slanted box.

yea i heard of that before, i think Jonathan said it was called "standing waves" but i dont know exactly wut goes on in the box but i have a 2.5 cuft. box slot ported and tuned to 28 hz that has no slants in it and i like the way it sounds. Jonathan could elaborate on this more though.

its just said that a box with no slant will break the standing waves, but it has to be a really big box for it too really matter much.

oh so a box with .88 cu. ft per chamber wouldn't really matter?
