Has anyone set up a Pioneer VSX-D811S?

Got one, open box, without a remote or manual. I'm just looking to do basic setup for sub + 4 speakers . . . haven't picked up a center channel yet (I know, I know, but I'm a newbie so don't kill me! ). Is it possible to do setup w/o the remote? It's available online, so I can buy it if needed, just looking for some advice on whether it's worth the $ to pick up the remote. TIA!

You need the remote to set up your custom features. You can download the manual at pioneerusa.com. With the remote you can customize your speaker levels and distances. Get the remote so you can enjoy the full benefit of this receiver.
