Is Ebay, if bought from a store with lots of positive feedback, to be trusted?? I was thinking of buying a Denon receiver from them. Is this a wise decision or should i just pay more and buy it from a dealer?

I'd go with a reputable ONLINE dealer such as jr.com, crutchfield.com, onecall.com, etc. who have excellent return policies in case you have the bad luck to get something defective or damaged during shipping. Those guys should still be a lot less than a brick and mortar dealer.

Or you could call up a brick and mortar dealer and see if they can match or come close to those reputable online dealers' prices. Some dealers are willing to do that if they're having a slow month (call towards the end of the month not the beginning) plus they know they'll have a sale, not have to deal with a customer hemming and hawing on their shop floor for hours at a time.

Shop at a store where you can pick, choose and listen.
If you know what you want, shop wherever you like.
Do not waste someones time if you will never buy there, or at least tell the person so.

Be polite and honest.

Or buy sight inseen from an anonymous listing.

You choose.

Remember where you have to go for warranty and after sales service and advise.
