I have a Sony STR-DE825 receiver and a speaker selecter, allowing me to hook up multiple sets of speakers throughout the house; however, the power is extreamly diminished. Is it possible to hook up an amp to the system? Possibly between the receiver and the speaker selector? Please help.

If you do not have preamp outputs on the reciever it is not possible to hook up another amp with out doing so much jerry-rigging (no offense, jerry) your system would become a fire hazard.
