Optical to analog audio connection

So, i've upgraded my cable box receiver to the HDTV format & have the new NDTV - incredible picture, but I want to take advantage of the cable company provided music channels, and pipe that through my (rather old) receiver (Kenwood from circa 1997) without going through the HDTV monitor. Problem is the only outputs on the cable box are optical or digital coax, and the only inputs on the receiver are the old analog R/L. Are there optical-to-analog audio cables out there? I know I need a new receiver, but have no money now.

You would need a D/A Converter. With your receiver, it's probably a waste. It would make more sense to get a newer receiver with built in DAC's.

Unless you can get cheap shitty ones that I don't know about, which is possible.
