I'd like to be able to tell you Santa's bringing me a couple of Mac mono blocks and pre amp, some high end speakers and a Rega Isis or Naim CD555.

But instead I'll have to settle for wishing you all and your loved ones a great Christmas and happy, healthy, prosperous and musical 2010.

And stay safe guys and gals.

Finished opening all the gifts here. My living room looks like a toy factory exploded. My son's favourite gift was the guitar and Marshall practice amp :-)

I know what you mean, David.

The family room looked like a jungle of wrapping paper . We've been cutting down on the toys the last two years and focusing more on books.

They still received some nice toys, but not many. Mostly books and clothing (Batman, Spiderman and Transformers based).

I gave my (soon to be six year old) son his first Mark Twain.........The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer.

It's important to instill a love of reading early NMT. We cut back on the toys this year (at least we tried too) and focused on a few big things instead.

I am happy to share that this Christmas was overall pretty good. Family got on well minus one 20 minute moment. I can inform I'm a happy owner of some Sennheiser hd 595s, a portable hardrive, richard bransons autobiography, new shoes, odd bits and bobs, some money and some beer.
I wish I could afford to give more gifts to my parents and sisters! Maybe next Chrimbo if I land a nice graduate job.

How about the rest of you?

" It's important to instill a love of reading early NMT. "

Absolutely, David. My boys are 3 and 5 years old. And we have. We were reading to both boys since they were born and we've been encouraging reading just as long.

They have always had a good collection of books. But last christmas we dicided to reduce the amount of toys and continue to increase their book collections.

Next year it's a keyboard and nylon string guitar.

They already have drum sticks, bongo drums, a tamborine, a harmonica (which my three year old is actually getting pretty good at) and a snare drum.

Of course they also got and have the usual sports stuff. Hockey sticks, pucks, balls, baseball mitts, bats, footballs, soccer balls ...etc.
